Our full onsite assessment is incredibly comprehensive and incorporates range of motion testing, muscle strength testing, functional movement testing, indoor run testing and outdoor run testing. Our methods are tuned to provide the ultimate testing approach for the specific demands of running. We use cutting edge proprietary technology much of which has been developed in partnership with tech manufacturers and is exclusive to Runfisx. And your session does not stop with your analysis, rather we use this as the basis for providing you with individually tailored strength training that helps you improve. Our ability to understand your data is built on our knowledge from performing more than 2500 onsite analyses and working with more than 100,000 global datasets. During your analysis you will directly benefit from our experience of working with runners all over the world including many of the world's fastest.
In most cases super slo-motion video (up to 1000fps) is also captured during the assessment session and integrated into the interpretation. It can yield important complementary information about the runner that helps us add context to your data. However this is not always possible. For example when we are performing gait analysis outdoors at race events.
Mobile gait analysis is the assessment of a runner's gait that incorporates the use of wearable measuring devices that are worn by the runner typically on their body or their shoes.
Runfisx are a Canadian registered company based in Calgary, Alberta. We are integrated into the clinic of Versa MC.
Yes, absolutely. Check out the next FAQ below.
If you do not live in the Central Alberta area then you can send data from your own devices to Runfisx. For example, from RunScribe footpods. This can be done very quickly and easily by secure electronic sharing. You can also send videos of your running to Runfisx (our staff will inform you about what video is required). On occasion we will also send devices out to you if required for you to collect your data and send back.
Our gait analysis assessments offer scientific data collection and interpretation on your running. In the Full package option we also follow-up with a tailored strength training session (based on your results). We never perform massage therapy, physiotherapy, chiropractic, podiatric or sports medical treatment protocols within an assessment session. For onsite assessments, onsite physiotherapy treatment is available as a follow-up. We pride ourselves on seamlessly integrating our gait and biomechanical assessments into tailored strength training and physiotherapy.
The approximate onsite session durations are: Basic: 2 hours. Full: 2 hours plus an additional 1 hour session. Reports are generated immediately after the sessions and emailed to the runner within 48 hours of the session.
For all onsite assessments please bring comfortable running clothing and the running shoes you wear the most each week. You can also bring other shoes if you are interested in getting comparative shoe advice. Your running clothing will need to take account of the weather conditions as assessments will involve you running outside.
Generally, no. You will be taught strength exercises that fit your abilities at the time. Much of the strength training prescribed uses body weight and light resistance bands. However you should always consider your current state of health before booking a session and completing the necessary information forms.
For onsite assessments and strength training sessions payment is made at the reception immediately after the assessment session. For remote assessments payment by invoice is made after the assessment session, on delivery of the assessment report.
For Canadian based runners the payment methods include debit/credit card and e-transfer. For onsite assessments we can also accept cash. For runners outside of Canada we can provide Paypal details for making your payment.
